Spin welding or friction welding involves inserting a plastic fitting into a close fit hole and rapidly spinning it by means of a router to fuse the fitting to the product (usually a polyethylene tank).<\/p>\n
Each fitting incorporates a 360\u00b0 energy director focusing the friction on a smaller surface area to help initiate the melt giving a faster more secure bond.<\/p>\n
Eight external support ribs spaced evenly around each fitting offers optimal load distribution resulting in excellent mechanical strength even when under load from input\/output pipes.
