Product Development
Roto Quip has a research and development department including a fully equipped tool room for manufacturing moulds and dies. CAD/CAM facilities are utilized for product development where a customer requires a custom made component, made to their individual specifications. New products are designed using CAD software. We also offer 3D printing services to give quick proof-of-concept samples.
Roto Quip offers the following Research and Development services:
- Concept and product design using SolidWorks™ CAD software.
- Product analysis and testing using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- 3D prototyping.
- Design and manufacture of production tools using CAD/CAM (CNC) machining.
Case Study 1: Custom Lid
This custom lid was designed for a long standing Roto Quip customer who was looking for a modern alternative to their outdated rotational moulded lid. Durable, sleek and easily stackable this customised lid is a perfect example of a close professional relationship we foster with all customers.
Case Study 2: Grain Feeder
This product was designed in partnership with a customer manufacturing grain storage tanks. Previously this customer was using a rudimentary sheet metal cap over a tank outlet. In line with the customers specification Roto Quip designed the first ever lockable grain dispenser.
Case Study 3: Alluminium Insert
To assist tank manufacturers to match threads for our 65mm to 175mm lids, we offer heat transferring aluminium inserts that can be attached to a mould to ensure the perfect thread is moulded on any size tank.
Case Study 4: Custom Colour Water Fittings
To identify Roto Quip quality, all Bulkhead Fittings are manufactured in light grey. In line with customer specifications we are able to mould fittings in any specific custom colour.
